This is Our Story, It’s a long one but it’s been a really interesting one…… I am a Coeliac and have suffered from the effects of battling with Auto Immune Illnesses all my life & in 2004 got diagnosed with Coeliac Disease…I am a big foodie and big into wellness and eating good real food & love enjoying long enjoyable meals in the company of loved ones. All of a sudden this became a nightmare, eating out safely was no longer an option, I became the “annoying” customer/ meal guest, who has to dissect every menu with the waiting staff so that I wouldn’t suffer after, I began to refuse to settle for the products that were being offered to us as “food” and began to research how I could change this so this is when The GFKC was born.
The Gluten Free Kitchen Company Brand established itself in 2011 as a market stall selling freshly baked goods Free From Gluten/Wheat/ Oats/ Rye & Barley & using non processed ingredients. Soon after establishing, the demand for our private & trade orders led to the need of a larger kitchen premises which was located in an unoccupied but fully equipped restaurant.
Due to the popular demand of our products, in 2012 The GFKC decided to take it to the next level and established a temporary 10 Day “Pop Up” Café, Deli with In House Bakery retail establishment located in Tralee, Co. Kerry, Ireland. The “Pop Up” was such a success that The GFKC extended the lease due to customer demand and signed a two year lease to test the market and fully design the concept based on our customers needs.
This Is when the real fun began……..During the 2 year temporary leasehold of an already fitted out and vacant restaurant premises, The GFKC Brand established itself as a destination location with customers travelling from all parts of Ireland and beyond. For example; The UK & other European countries as well as the USA and Australia. All coming to try ‘the first of its kind eatery’ that was dedicated to a certified safe eating environment for everyone, particularly Coeliacs, allergy suffers and Health Conscious Foodies. In less than 12 months word spread and the concept began to win Awards and Accreditations from food critics and food affiliated award ceremonies! Invitations to trade at major Festivals & Expos also started to come in.
Between 2011 & 2014 The GFKC fully developed its concept for a unique High Potential Investment Business Opportunity, Business Model.
In September 2014 we were invited by John & Sally McKenna of McKenna’s Guides to set up our Deli at Electric Picnic. The GFKC launched its range of Gourmet Deli Products at Electric Picnic (Ireland’s leading Music Festival with a daily passing Trade of 20,000 festival attendees and staff). It was a huge success with customers not realising they were eating gluten-free products. They purchased our products from the quality presentation they were supplied with. The launch of the Deli at EP was the first certified g&wf Gourmet Sandwich/ bap & wrap launched in Ireland. As a result of our attendance at Electric Picnic, we received further invitations to festivals such as, The Free From & Allergy Expo in the RDS, Bloom, Killarney Food Festival, Body & Soul Music Festival, Listowel Food Festival, Electric Picnic, Wellfest, Dingle Food Festival & many more. What Happened Next was the most exciting part………
On our return to Kerry after Electric Picnic we returned to word that we had been successfully chosen as one of 6 Irish & 2 International High Potential Start Up’s to attend a Bank of Ireland Funded Business Bootcamp where we received mentoring from Entreprenuers such as Gavin Duffy (Dragons Den), Sean O’ Sullivan (Dragons Den & SOS Ventures) & Bill Laoi (Coderdojo). On the program it opened doors for us to fully document our business model & gave us huge insight into our concept and documented it into reality and created an Investor Ready Business Plan where we received opportunities to pitch our Business Model to Venture Capitalist Investors.
Due to the wealth of combined knowledge of our Teams experience we did not need to accept VC investment into finishing the development of the business model and fully developed the opportunity which we launched with the assistance of an Enterprise Ireland Voucher to co fund our website which was launched in late 2015. The GFKC is a 100% Irish Owned Family Business.
The GFKC dedicated gluten & wheat free proposed chain of eateries is the first dedicated chain of its kind worldwide, making it the leading brand of its kind!
The GFKC has a regular and loyal customer base with its broad variety of certified Deli, Café, Bakery and Foodstall products. The company plans to build a strong market position both nationally and internationally due to the partners’ industry experience and the uniqueness of establishing itself as one of Europe’s & Irelands first 100% Certified & Dedicated G&WF full eateries.

Our Sweet & Savoury Bakery Products are available to Purchase directly from our Ordering Team via Orders and can be delivered directly to your door, nationwide or collected from our collection point in Tralee. We also recommend a huge range of wellness products that can be shipped directly to you, globally which include certified gluten free Food Supplements, Skincare, Make Up, Weight Management & Sports Products made with quality clean free from ingredients.
We also offer a full catering menu for Parties. If it’s a small gathering, celebration or Wedding, Speak to our expert team to discuss your special event.

The GFKC have fully developed our Brand and plan to open a Chain of Outlets in the future.
